My experience at BART has been an exciting challenge. I am proud to say that I am involved with many of BART's benchmark projects such as the Oakland Airport Connector. I gained alot of career skills and now I can set my standards higher than before. This internship also allowed me to expand my networking opportunities while building relationships within a government agency. If you are a student seeking an internship for school credit or career experience, make BART your number one choice!

My name is Liz Mitchell and I am a student intern for the Communications Department at BART. I currently attend San Jose State University as a Public Relations major with a minor in Psychology.
I was born in the bay area and spent a few years living in Sacramento, but the bay area is my home. I love to travel, I have been to Europe and I am planning a trip to South American for the end of the year. (Yeah!!)

Since becoming an intern with BART in its Communications Department, it has been nothing but an exciting and a rewarding experience. Through this internship, I have been able to meet fellow interns, who share the same interests as I do, and to have first-hand experience on working on projects. I am a senior, double majoring in Political Economy and Media Studies at the University of California, Berkeley. My experience at BART has been rewarding. Not only do I have an opportunity to expose myself to the dynamic organization structure, but I also gain a real life view of how BART Communications Department interacts with the public through different campaigns and working closely with the media. Among all, I love the people aspect at BART the most. Every one is very supportive and resourceful. I am very much welcome to ask and learn, and other members at BART are always willing to give you guidance and advice.
